Ray--Thanks for the report. One of the big environmental problems over there, beginning a few years ago, has been the spread of that weed, Cape ivy or German ivy. Before the fire, there was a severe infestation in the SE quadrant of the Park. I wonder what effect the fire will have on the ivy, and whether the Parks Dept. will now have an opportunity to beat it back.

Ray, Thanks for this excellent report, and great photos, too. I was in Seattle while the fire was taking off, and I was anxious to get solid, hard data on developments. Through your reporting in the Independent, I was able to get far better information than had ever been available prior to Zaca, last year. If only the maps on inciweb were improved.........................Otis
