My mom took me to see these guys when they played at the Luhrs Center in Shippensburg, PA. When I moved to PA four years ago from SB, Mom warned me it was a cultural wasteland. She was SO EXCITED to see them in our town. If you guys are reading, you made her day and because she took me along (I'm 16), you have a fan from a new generation.

I agree with flamnikita. My mother abused my father through the court system to the point he was unable to even see me anymore. Instead she and her next husband abused me to the point where the state finally had to step in. The Santa Barbara County court system and social services are sick and dysfunctional.

Or they could do what my family did....poison my dog and drown my bunny. Some people don't even deserve to have kids, let alone pets.

I forgot to mention that part of the "sustainable" revolution is also paying a living wage. Manufacturing in China uses slave labor. Those people earn very little compared to their US counterparts. Companies manufacture in China and other third world countries not because of proximity to consumable resources but because of cheap labor. BRING OUR MANUFACTURING & SERVICE JOBS HOME. MAKE AMERICA STRONG AGAIN.

Cat tails only need a few inches of muck to grow in and can even be grown on a parking lot with mud because they are rhizomes. So, why are you growing and manufacturing in China? Doesn't the transportation negate the 'greeness' of your product? Or it is that the labor is so darn cheap that you are able to make more $$$$$$$ to afford your Santa Barbara lifestyle? I'm sure that downtown office doesn't come cheap. I challenge you to bring production to the United States. Grow and manufacture your products here. Companies, such as yours, relies on offshore labor is only contributing to the downfall of this nation.

In PA, when we have my Cocker with me at an outdoor pizza place, the owner brings out a little dish of treats he makes from real beef liver. No one has ever told us to leave patio dining with my dog. I used to think SB was really cool and progressive, but after leaving and reading about all the dumb things you argue about, I'm glad I live here now.

When I moved to Pennsylvania from Santa Barbara, I thought this place was backwards and so behind. But then I got involved with the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture and found out that PA was SO FAR AHEAD of California in terms of farmers and environmentalists working together. As my Mom (who lived in Ojai for 20 years and went to UCSB) says, "Californians like to talk about it and dabble in it, but Pennsylvanians are out there doing it and living it." She's soooooo right! It good to see that Santa Barbara is finally getting their act together.

My dad was harvesting rainwater back when we lived in Santa Barbara and people made fun of him for it. We've been doing it since we moved to a farm in Pennsylvania and now we water my horse and my 4-H animals, plus the animals we raise for food and water our gardens all with the water that runs off of the barn's roof.

That budget includes more than just money for the homeless. Why aren't people asking about all the money shelled out for drug-addicted, alcoholic socialites that the system 'rehabilitates', sends to college for a psychology degree and then hires. They've got their own patients working for them. Now THAT'S crazy.

Must have been Judge Ochoa. He lets all the female drunks off the hook. As if that isn't bad enough, he sends them to rehab where they are educated so the county can hire them as drug & alcohol counselors!
