If there is one example that shows the utter ignorance of this man here it is--
"It has to do with a reading of the Koran that calls for a world-wide Muslim Empire with a caliphate based in Iran.”
If Mr. Horowitz had taken the time to learn a bit about Islam he would discover that the Persian Shia of Iran do not follow the Wahabbiest plea for a restoration of a Islamic Caliphate. Furthermore, it was Iran's President Khatami who helped the US overthrow the Taliban after 9/11 vis-a-vis their connections to the Northern Alliance.
But is all of this really the point? No--but, it clearly shows that a man who wants to preach division will find himself blinded by his own disregard for facts and peace.
Perhaps we should ask what alternative motives he might have? Horowitz?

Let me be as clear as possible: I dropped out of Santa Barbara High School because “school” was obstructing my education. My experiences at Santa Barbara High School were in summery a betrayal of the American dream that my ancestors worked so hard for me to have. We cannot allow our education system to fail the next generation as it had failed so many.
David Hodges hit a walk off home run in targeting the problems and forwarding plausible solutions. There needs to be more educators willing to take on this catastrophe educational system.
But in the mean time…

In my article "Enforced Silence" I say that I am from German Jewish decent. What I leave out is that the other part is Armenian.
Before I spent 2 months is Israel and worked at a Palestinian refugee camp in Nablus I was in Armenia. Despite the far economic spread I noticed a strikingly similar yearning for peace and community in both cultures.
As I know many of the Teach-In On Israel event planners personally, I trust that they did a good job. It should always be made clear however that Palestinian violence (like Israeli violence) is not a made up event.
There is enough pain to go around. If you want a further example of this re-read my article "Enforced Silence"

It's been a long time coming for a Two State Solution. In addition people like President Amadenajad should not be allowed to hop on the Palestinian Ban Wagon while he continues to sucker Bush into a pre-war hype. With the nature of the the speculative oil industry Bush is only playing into his game while countries like Iran and Russia reep the benefits of unprecedented oil profits . I have "had it" with the American policy that delays a grass roots regime change in Iran and prolongs the inhumanity of the Occupation of the West Bank.

As I said: Enforced Silence

I feel tickled for being publicly chastised in my hometown newspaper of liberal Santa Barbara for attempting to have an intellectual discussion regarding the Israel, Palestine calamity. The irony is that my piece “Enforced Silence” was precisely illustrated by last week’s hawkish letters suggesting that my editorial, based on political science and first-hand experience is a piece of propaganda.
Responses like “sometimes silence is worth gold”, as written by Ami Cohen in last weeks Independent, only confirm my initial point that there is an American hush to this conflict that I too have now felt. I continue encourage the “moderates” of this conflict not to obsequiously stand-by while others continue to condemn this essential debate.
