MountainDrivers, It has been an honor to be your neighbor and friend, it will be an honor to rebuild our community in the coming decades. The soul of mountain drive community is alive. Vicki J, may take you up on that offer in Chili!, your brothers houses are looking well, along with few other friends.
No one of us who have lost our home are sitting around crying, its time to take care of each other, Thank you SB, even though we have lost our house and things, feels more than ever like home. Thanks to ALL
Be well everyone.

"How about being thankful you live in a country that even tolerates homosexuality and stop trying to redefine our words and culture?"

Great example of tolerance, AShaw. So thankful for people like you.

Not being physically aggressive toward others does not make you tolerant. Think about Penny and Barack; I will go way out on a limb and say that they support each other, even as their life choices differ.

-great column.

woah opinionator! thats a great idea.. either $1/gallon water for their precious lawns, or open up some of that space so our kids can play on it. Nobody is ever out on Harolds lawn, we can start there..

Excellent Glen, and while we're at it, let's stop using styrofoam take-away garbage (clamshells, cups, ect..) Maybe a small campaign is all it would take, ask local businesses to stop, and when they do, they get a cool looking sign/poster to post in their window (which we all will look for). You see the sign, you know you won't be shocked to receive your burrito after it has been wrapped in 2 inch thick mummy casing, and after you've already paid for it.

Multi-colored hands were considered for the illustration, but the story was about prison overcrowding, not how many of them are white, how many are mexican or black ect..
That is another valid story though.

That's a great idea. Also I think we should not be supporting take out restaurants which still use styrofoam. Last year SB talked of banning styro used for take out foods .. I still see places using it . What happened?

On Paper or Plastic?

There is a self indulgent epidemic taking over many peoples minds these days, It is taking the form of abusive emails, blogings and comments. The reason why? Nobody has to show up and answer for these hateful messages face to face!
Nice job Starshine, I enjoy your commentary more each week. Don't hold back girl.

This is an outrage!
Woman, elders and true servants paying the price for these 'leaders' disgraceful misbehavior is an abomination.
Reinforce community and abandon structures which abandon you.

On Priests Prey, Sisters Pay

Forgive me, but this letter seems snotty, self-righteous and offers no solutions for anything.
Maybe we have to all help each other remember what things to do?
How about asking our restaurants to quit using clamshells and styrofoam and switch to something else? (just 1 idea.)
