I admit all the bad events happened. Tragic. Congress has it by 2080 only %8 of people running around calling themselves "American Indian" will be one-half American Indian, or better. And all though it is some time 'til it happens the people of Chumash descent will be determined to be no longer Chumash. There are no full-bloods now. In which case the land held by Chumash INC reverts back to being good ol US of A.

i can tell you that many of us are loosing patience with female mayors and criminal-coddeling Latin Americano police chiefs under 6 ft tall. Cheesy rider police chief aint workin out.
He cant make a mere statement about crime without some coddeling statment about personal recovery from criminal gangs that some of these people DO make. But all in all, lets face it...i dont care if these pukes are up at Wasco state prison with high heels on, dead, or doing youth crap having turned theire life around. I want the problem solved.

The problem with this article is
nothing found within de la guerra's letter. Its in Gottheimer’s use of the word, "white". By using this word opposite "Mexican American" he asserts that the land-owning class of Mexican California wasnt white. The land-owning class, the virtual 'Califonios' were most often of Spanish extraction and very much white. This is why the Mex-American War hardley represents anything to do with the modern day 'Chicano' (mestizo) movement.
In my humble opinion, the 'Chicano'
movement defined itself when the Mexican-Americans hung on to their land despite the Depression and the hard years that followed.
But the Chicano leaders love to fuzz history to have the loss of California a real heartbreaker, as if it wasnt white people who had the most to loose.
If you read "The Mex-American Experience" by de Garza you'll read only %1 (one)of the Mexican population was lost to the Anglo conquest of the whole Southwest in the 1840s.
Both the SB Independent and the SB News-Press rarley get history right concerning race and the Mex-American War. They are baffeled by the Chicano fib and gawd knows its racist if you mention this flaw.
