Oh brother,
A half a million dollars for being startled? Did you find a finger in your salad too? Did your coffee spill on you because you were lame? The lawyer taking his case should be liable for my tax dollars if he loses. What is he suing for? What injuries? Does he need some new underwear because he was "startled"?

I mean, come on, look at the picture above. What are the circumstances? Meth? Blow? Antidepressants? Niquil? mixed with a chardonnay? Some other personal drama that we have all read about?
Any normal person would be going thru the system regardless of the circumstances. Maybe they (honerable judge what's his face) figured it would be more of a headache for her to go thru the system locally than it was worth, and spared us all the media circus.

The only circumstances it comes down to is the size of her wallet.

Yes, I am not sure weather to laugh of be disgusted. Any normal person gets the cookie cutter recipe listed above. Also included is a free orange vest with SWAP written on the back and the privilege of cleaning out men's and women's bathrooms(with all the joys the come along with it) in one of our county parks at 7am on Sat and Sunday morning for a month.
I have a friend who is an attorney, mentioned that you will not even be afforded the respect to speak in a court of the good old boys club if you are thinking of not getting an attorney. It is ridiculous. The flipside is who do we have to blame? We vote these TOOLS of justice in, correct? When is the last time any one had a judges debate we could ask the question: If a celebrity was busted, would you let them off easy if they hired an expensive attorney?

Yes, but hopefully the coastal commission will pop it back open for all of us. You will never convince me of he legal right over that land. He got his stuff thru on a technicality over the previous lots that should have been null and void. What was the vote 3-2? Sorry not buying it. I see that whole vote as a sham. I will say that death threats are weak sauce. While I may not like what he is doing, and probably not him all that much, being a bully lame in any respect, physically or economically. We are worrying about our lives. Naples has been a big part of a lot of peoples lives around here. This guy shows up, buys it, pulls a shell game with the lots and wants to build a mini Hollister ranch? I don't think so, Homey don't play that game. He is pulling the art of war negotiation crap. Setting the bar hi until the costal commission comes down on him which is inevitable. I kind of hope the county gets involved again some how with the new change in the roster. And here is one more point dude, I doubt he EVER had a decent parking spot and a little trail down to the beach for surfers in any plan. I watched the hearings. "ahhh, no that to severely have an economic impact as my higher end buyers value their privacy.... " Oh BS. It is because the developer is being a greedy pooh head.

Paul is one of the most decent human beings you will ever meet. It is truly unfortunate that Santa Barbara's charm is going by the wayside for corporate crap. Not only was it a mom and pop type store, it really served up a quality product. I believe Paul will be back in some capacity being the great cook that he is, but who knows if SB will be lucky enough to have him anymore.
