I want to thank you for you excellent coverage of the recent fires in the Santa Barbara area. Although we do not live in the area now, my husband grew up in Santa Barbara, I lived there for six years, and we still have family in the area. During the Gap Fire, when I was worried about my brother and his family, he told me to check your site, that it was the best way to get the current fire information. It was reassuring to be able to not only read hour by hour info on the fire, but to see maps of both the fire areas and evacuation areas.

When the Tea Fire erupted and I realized that it might affect other family, I went right to your Web site for information.

Some of my husband's family were directly affected by the evacuation orders, and again, the best way to keep up was through your excellent coverage on your Web site.

My sister-in-law, under an evacuation order and sitting in her house on an empty street just off APS, was frustrated by the lack of information from the news, etc. When I talked to her on the phone, I told her of your Web site and today she let me know that it was the most information that she had so far been able to get.

Thank you for working so hard to bring us the latest on these horrible and anxiety causing events. It has been reassuring to know that even though I am more than 400 miles from those I care about, I can get all the information I need to keep me informed. -Holly Werner

    Holly.
I feel your worry. I was raised in Goleta and attended the SBCC. I have stayed abreast of the going-ons in Santa Barbara County because it is where I call home. When the fires, earthquakes, storms and other disasters stike California, I click into the Indi Website for the up-to-date information. I live further than you, out here on the East Coast (DC) but have to stay in touch with the area that will always e my true home.
    Charles
