A shot in the arm: Dr. Fred Kass is heading up a soon-to-start clinical research trial for a possible lung cancer vaccine at the Cancer Center of Santa Barbara. Part of a Phase III study of the drug Lucanix's effectiveness on advanced-stage, inoperable lung cancer, the Cancer Center is one of roughly 60 clinics in the world doing the research on the potentially groundbreaking treatment.
