One man was stabbed and two women were injured after a fight broke out on the 100 block of Ortega Street over an apparent fender bender Sunday evening. The male victim was sent to the hospital with multiple knife wounds. The confrontation escalated just before 9 p.m. between neighbors who lived on Ortega Street.
According to Santa Barbara Police Sergeant Lorenzo Duarte, detectives have been investigating the altercation since the incident occurred and several people are being held in custody. The SBPD is still looking for suspects related to the fight.

A two-for-one Santa Barbara-style crime; road rage and a stabbing rolled into one.

Let's all be glad the weapon was a knife and not a gun!

This kinda stuff happens every night but it doesn't always make the paper..It's not safe to take a walk at night anymore..But most people don't know that because it never makes the paper or the t.v. Just once in a while..Just enough for their quota..

As for knives and guns, the underlying problem is the increasingly violent attitudes of people--something gun-control advocates fail to address. I'd rather see Santa Barbara go back to the days where one could obey the speed limit without some pissed off driver running up their bumper being the norm than giving Uncle Sam the right to take away people's right to defend themselves while these increasingly angry and violent people become more mainstream.
Rwanda's genocide was committed in large part by machete-wielding attackers, and many of our local acts of violence are happening with knives, baseball bats, and fists.
