Following the infamous 3-2 vote by the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors to send a letter to Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger requesting a repeal of the oil lease moratorium, the Goleta City Council considered its own resolution in support of the decades-long ban on 9/16. A lively debate — which included anti-oil activists and oil company representatives — did not yield a decisive vote, however, and the matter will return at the council’s 9/30 meeting. (/goletaoil)
