All Hallow’s Eve is fast approaching, and it’s none too soon to explore the creepy creatures of nature that symbolize Halloween. That’s right — owls, bats, spiders, snakes, and scorpions are waiting to have a close encounter with you at the Cachuma Lake Nature Center (Hwy. 154, Santa Ynez) on Wednesday, October 8, from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. In addition to the live beasts, there will be real skulls and bones, witches, face painting, punch, and popcorn. Cost is $6. Call 693-0691 for more information.
