Critic’s Pick :Control

The much talked about directorial debut of Anton Corbijn tells the story of the late Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis and his tragic suicide in 1980. The biopic (based on Curtis’s wife’s book Touching from a Distance) will be shown only once in Santa Barbara. The film, which stars Sam Riley, Samantha Morton, and Alexandra Maria Lara, created quite the critical stir at 2007’s Cannes Film Festival, making it the ideal choice for a very special, two-night-only S.B. debut.
