The Santa Barbara City Council on 7/29 denied Bricks Café’s appeal of the Police and Fire Commission’s decision to reject the State Street nightspot’s application for a dance permit. Owner Wallace Ronchietto has twice been cited for violating his Alcohol Beverage Control license, which mandates no amplified music or live entertainment at the front of his establishment. The commission suggested Ronchietto apply for a different license that would permit a non-amplified band playing for a dance floor. (/bricks)
