• Docents are needed at the Land Trust for Santa Barbara County’s Arroyo Hondo Preserve on the Gaviota Coast. If you love nature, hiking, and children, join our next docent training class. Trainings will be at the preserve on Mondays from 1-4 p.m., September 8-October 27. Have fun and rewarding experiences with children exploring our pristine creek and canyon. • Every Friday night, the Unitarian Society Church (1535 Santa Barbara St.) hosts Dance Away, a lively variety of music playing in a smoke- and alcohol-free environment, for a nice alternative to the State Street scene.
