Saigon In and Out Vietnamese Restaurant has opened a spacious new location on State Street just below Victoria Street. The off-the-beaten-path Milpas Street location (318 N. Milpas St., 966-0916, saigoninandout.com) receives consistently rave reviews for its delicious vermicelli bowls and efficient service from the moment guests walk in the door. The more central location downtown (1230 State St., Ste. A) will benefit from more foot traffic for both lunch and dinner. The menu, which has a vast selection of traditional pho, curried chicken, and shrimp bowls, and vegetarian options, will remain the same. The spring roll appetizer served with a sinus-clearing red pepper sauce on the side consists of three heaping wraps full of shrimp, shredded lettuce, and fresh Vietnamese herbs. At just $4.95, it’s extremely popular at the right price. The variety can’t be beat, from jellyfish salad to beef three ways to a full slate of vegetarian options. Call in your meal for pick up and your order will be ready before you even have a chance to leave your house.
