SINGING IN THE SUN: Meet Kate Brody-Adams, The Independent’s new listings editor and the go-to person for the what, when, and where for all Santa Barbara community happenings. This Santa Barbara High School graduate, who has returned to her old stomping grounds after graduating from UCLA last year, says she enjoys her new job—“It’s all about organization”—as well as the benefit of being up-to-date on events—“I really like knowing what’s going on.” In fact, she’s so happy she could sing—and she’d probably be good at it, too. After all, Kate starred as Dorothy in an S.B. High production of The Wizard of Oz. The role, which had her toting around a 60-pound Toto, doubtlessly will prepare her for the onerous task of maintaining event listings. No Kate, you’re not in Kansas anymore. You’re at The Independent.
