Description: Edelweiss Choir presents the Belcanto Choir in concert, as part of its Belcanto U.S.A. Tour–2008. Belcanto is a youthful mixed choir from the famous and old University City of Goettingen in Germany, where it is considered one of the most popular choirs.
The Belcanto Choir will sing American and German folk music, as well as classical selections, which are all part of an extensive tour repertoire. The Edelweiss Choir is providing a short introductory performance in this concert. The Belcanto Choir was founded in 1983 by its present Music Director, Torsten Derlin. It consists of several choir groups, such as a Show Choir and a Concert Choir. The 25-member Concert Choir will perform in this concert.
